Spotlight ✨ Sunday ✨ // Penney's Lip Liner Pencil

Happy weekend everyone, I hope you're having a good one; whether you're having a lazy day on the couch or nursing a deadly hangover under the protection of your duvet cover. Today is the second installment of my Spotlight Sunday segment and I thought I'd share one of my hands down favorite cosmetic products; Penney's (AKA Primark) Lip Liner Pencil.

I am an Irish girl, therefore I have this embedded need to go into Penneys whenever I'm within a mile mile radius of the store. I promise myself I'm only going in for a browse or to pick up one of the vanilla pillar candles (sure they're practically free at €2.50, like do you know how long they burn for?!) and maybe a knickers or two and then suddenly I'm at the cash point and my total is €79.50 and I hate myself. Addication aside, when you're shopping you will hear at least five people mention how much Penneys/Primark have "upped their game in recent years". And I agree with this statement; Penney's used to be a place you'd go at the end of your shopping day to get a few odd bits and now it's a staple in most people's shopping trips. And I think that's down to their awareness of what the customer wants.

I could talk about Penney's all day but what I really what to applaud is their cosmetic range which not only is affordable but many of their products are dupes of other, more expensive branded make-up.

Penney's PS...Lip Liner crayon is soft and glides across the lips

At €1.50 and mostly available in the bowls cleverly placed along the queue, I always had a few of these liners in my make up drawer but it wasn't until I complimented a girl who I work with on her lipstick and she told me it was actually the lip liner that I understood how amazing these liners are.

When I used the liner as lipstick for the first time
Because the liner formulation is soft (like lipstick) you can glide it across the lips. (Tip 1#: apply a lip primer as this will create a soft layer, making application easy -- if you don't have primer, non-greasy lip balm will do). I have the liners in shades 19 (Brown) and 6 (Desert Sand) but there is a lot more available in the PS...collection. Because of it's stayability, easy application and attractive shades I will always come back to these liners, and not just for their price.

Tip 2#: To really define your lip line, once you've applied the liner (or any lipstick), outline the lips with concealer using a concealer or lip brush (freehand won't be precise enough).

Have you tried these lip liners yet? What are your favourite shades in the PS...collection? Let me know in the comments.
