Colour-popping shades for Spring ft. Maybelline, L'Oreal and NYX

Happy Thursday guys! If you're from Ireland I hope the wind hasn't blown you into another dimension and if you're living anywhere that is above 10 degrees I envy you.

Anyways, because Spring is in full swing - although this is debatable because personally I believe Spring shouldn't start until March but I don't control the seasons (soz!) - which means colour is finally returning to our little planet. The trees are growing buds again, you only have to walk in any direction for about 5 minutes before coming across daffodils and every.girl.magazine.on.the.planet.is.showcasing.floral.print. One of the things I love about Spring is that I feel more comfortable wearing colour again. Ok, I get it, you are your own person; you can wear whatever you want whenever you want but personally, when night-time creeps in earlier day by day, I find myself turning to darker colours in my clothes and my make-up.

L'Oréal Paris Glam Matte Intense Gloss

Colour Intensity: 4/5

What I Loved:
The heart shaped wand makes application easy
Although it's a matte lipstick, it doesn't dry out the lips or dull the colour

What I Loathed:
The swatch (pictured above) doesn't do the colour justice

Maybelline's Color Sensational Matte Lip Stick

Colour Intensity: 4.5/5

What I Loved:
The colour! It's such an ultraviolet-pink
It's incredibly smooth so it glides across the lips

What I Loathed:
The standard shape of the lipstick makes a precise application tough
The swatch does the colour no justice

Magnetic Magenta €9.99

Maybelline's Color Drama Lipstick

Colour Intensity: 4.5/5

What I Loved:
The pencil-shape to it was like using a lipliner so application was easy
The formula was more like a lipstick than pencil so it went on smoothly

What I Loathed:
Some of the product transferred onto my teeth
You'll need a special sized sharpener because it's bigger than a standard pencil

Light It Up €6.99

NYX's Professional Makeup High Voltage Lipstick

Colour Intensity: 5/5

What I Loved:
Definitely not for a more conservative person, this colour reeeeeally stands out.

What I Loathed:
I'm not a huge fan of the High Voltage formula; I find it can be very glossy
It takes awhile to dry and it can transfer onto your teeth
