Spotlight ✨Sunday✨// Rimmel's Silky Loose Powder

Happy Sunday guys! If you're like me and saving like a mad woman (or man) you're weekend was spent in, yet again. This J1 craic is turning out to be quite the expensive New Year's Resolutions so, if you follow me on my other social media platforms (links below if you don't), don't be expecting mad nights out. BUT if you want to see 12788634856 snaps of lil' pupper and doge and basically my inner monologue, then gis' a follow.

Anyway, back to Spotlight Sunday.

This week I want to put the spotlight on a product I have known for years but only started using the past two months; Rimmel's Match Perfection Silky Loose Powder. The reason I had been so hesitant to try it was the slight powdery-pale flesh hue to it which I thought would transfer onto the skin. Well firstly, I was wrong!! When applied over foundation, it goes completely translucent. Another problem I have had with loose powders was blending them out after baking (click here to see how to bake - psst; she does the baking at 8:55) but I've found, because of the silky feel of the formula, it doesn't stick to the skin.

Don't worry about the stark colour; once
blended it turns translucent

As for stayability I've found it stays on just as long - if not longer - than more expensive brands. I used to use Vichy's Dermablend Setting Powder (€19.99) and I can say it works just as well, for half the price (€9.99). Another benefit of buying any loose powder is how long you get out of it. No lie, I have the Dermablend powder for 2 YEARS! And it's been two months and the tub is still basically full. And the tub has an expiry of 30 months so don't worry about it expiring!

If you do decide to give this product a go, don't be like me and spend about 20 minutes googling "how to remove the plastic seal" because.there.is.no.plastic.seal. You have to pierce the 15 little holes yourself and this can be easily done with a pin needle or the back of an earring. You're welcome.

A tip for any of you who suffer from oily skin, especially an oily T-Zone *raises two hands and foot, then follow the steps below on how to mattify your make-up.

Step 1: Using a lid (I use the Rimmel powder lid),
shake some of the product out.

Step 2: Add your foundation (the ratio I find
best is 2:1 - more foundation that powder)
Step 3: Mix it up until you get this thicker consistency.

The formula is thicker and sits on the skin better and it
feels so silky

And that wraps up another Spotlight Sunday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and ps - if you were lucky enjoy to get Ed Sheeran tickets, I hate you.
